About the course

The Graduate Diploma in International Tax (GDipIntTax) is part of Melbourne Law School’s globally recognised specialist tax program, designed to prepare graduates for the practice of taxation law in a rapidly changing economic world. The course is suited to tax professionals, academics, government officials and those planning a career in tax law, from Australia or internationally. Students can select from a substantial range of international and comparative tax subjects, with teaching delivered by leading Australian and international tax experts.

What you might learn

Students develop advanced knowledge of international and comparative taxation law and how it operates across jurisdictions. The program builds the capability to analyse complex tax issues arising in cross-border transactions and changing global economic conditions. It also strengthens specialist legal reasoning and applied problem-solving skills relevant to professional tax practice.

Career outcome

Graduates are prepared for specialist roles involving international taxation in legal and professional services, corporate advisory, and government settings. The qualification supports career paths in tax law practice, international tax consulting, policy and regulatory work, and compliance for multinational organisations. It is also relevant for academics and professionals whose work requires deep expertise in cross-border tax rules and comparative tax systems.
