About the course

This Graduate Diploma equips health professionals to support families experiencing perinatal and infant mental health difficulties in the first 12 months after childbirth. You’ll build skills to identify, screen, manage and collaborate on care for perinatal mental health conditions, alongside understanding normal adjustment to pregnancy and infant development. The course emphasises reflective practice and working with the parent–infant dyad in an online graduate nursing-focused program.

Career outcome

Graduates are prepared to work clinically in perinatal mental health services supporting parents, infants and families across community and institutional settings. The course builds capability to collaborate with mental health and interdisciplinary professionals, apply screening and management approaches, and contribute to early intervention and recovery-focused care. Potential roles include perinatal mental health clinician positions in maternity, maternal and child health, and related nursing-led services.
