About the course
This AQF Level 9 Master’s (Research) is designed for nurses who want a research-focused career. You will undertake an in-depth investigation within your chosen nursing discipline, building advanced disciplinary knowledge and contemporary research capability. With guidance from experienced nursing leaders, you will develop and implement a substantial independent research project that contributes to nursing practice and knowledge as a Master of Nursing (Research). The programme develops advanced clinical reasoning, health leadership, and evidence-based practice for complex care environments.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue research-focused roles in healthcare and academia, contributing to evidence-based nursing practice, service improvement and policy. The degree supports pathways into clinical research, research assistant/associate positions, quality and safety or health service evaluation roles, and further higher degree research study. It also strengthens capability to lead and supervise nursing research activities in professional settings as a Master’s by research in Nursing.
