About the course
UniSQ’s Graduate Diploma of Counselling is a postgraduate qualification designed to build or extend specialist counselling expertise and support eligibility for professional association membership. You’ll study mostly online while completing required residential schools and tutorials, developing contemporary assessment and client-centred therapy skills that are trauma-informed and culturally sensitive. The program can also provide a pathway to the Master of Counselling in counselling practice.

Career outcome
This graduate diploma provides a foundation for professional counselling work across clinical and non-clinical settings where mental health and psychosocial support are needed. Graduates may find roles in community health centres, allied health and GP clinics, aged care and disability services, rehabilitation and telehealth, Employee Assistance Programs, correctional health, and refugee and asylum seeker services. It also supports eligibility for ACA level 1 membership in counselling.
