About the course
The Graduate Diploma in Midwifery is a 14-month full-time program for registered nurses seeking eligibility to practise as a midwife. It emphasises a primary health care approach and provides diverse teaching and learning experiences to build midwifery knowledge and clinical skills. Delivered in conjunction with Sydney public hospitals, the course is approved and recognised by relevant national nursing and midwifery regulators. The programme develops advanced clinical reasoning, health leadership, and evidence-based practice for complex care environments.

Graduates can pursue midwifery roles across a range of maternity care settings, including metropolitan, rural and remote hospitals, and community or home-based services.
