About the course

Deakin’s Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Midwifery prepares you to work across nursing and maternity care through integrated theory and extensive supervised clinical placements. You’ll build capabilities in patient-centred nursing and woman-centred midwifery across metropolitan, regional and rural health services, with experience in settings such as maternity, acute care, paediatrics, aged care and community health. This is a full-time undergraduate nursing qualification.

Graduates are prepared to pursue registration pathways leading to work as a registered nurse and as a midwife, supported by substantial clinical placement experience across hospitals and community services. Career options span maternity and neonatal services, medical-surgical and acute/sub-acute wards, paediatrics, rehabilitation, aged care, mental health and community health settings in metropolitan, regional and rural areas.
