About the course
The Diploma of Design provides a supported entry pathway into University of Canberra design study within the School of Design and the Built Environment. You’ll build foundational creative and design skills through campus-based learning and preparation for further undergraduate study. The course is designed to help you transition into higher-level design programs while developing core concepts and practice in design. This is a Diploma in Design & Visual Art. The programme trains digital design tools, visual production, and portfolio development for creative workplaces.

This diploma prepares you for further study in design-related degrees and helps you develop introductory skills relevant to creative practice. Graduates may pursue entry-level assistant roles in design studios or creative teams, supporting tasks such as concept development, visual communication and basic project work, or continue into a bachelor qualification to expand career options across design industries.
