About the course
The Diploma of Dementia Care develops specialised knowledge for supporting people living with dementia in community, hospital and residential aged-care settings. Designed by the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre, the course is delivered fully online and draws on current dementia research and real-life case studies. Assessments are varied and authentic, with no exams or workplace components, and you can study part-time or full-time in this Health Sciences diploma. The programme builds patient care fundamentals, clinical assistance skills, and health workplace practice.
Career outcome
Graduates can strengthen their capability to deliver dementia-informed care and communication across a range of aged-care and health services. The diploma supports professional development for personal and professional carers and for workers who regularly interact with people living with dementia, including roles in residential aged care, community care, hospitals and related support services. It can also assist those seeking progression into dementia-focused coordination, education or service-improvement responsibilities within Health Sciences.
