This Certificate III apprenticeship course develops practical cabinet-making and timber technology skills for residential and commercial settings. Designed for learners employed in the trade, it combines classroom study with work-based tasks to build capability in measuring and drafting (including CAD), interpreting documentation, preparing cutting lists, wood machining, and manufacturing or installing cabinetry and furniture. It leads to a formal trade qualification in cabinet making and timber technology.
Career outcome
Graduates can work as tradespersons in cabinet making and timber technology, manufacturing and/or installing timber products such as cabinetry and furniture for homes and commercial projects. Skills support work in workshop production, onsite installation, and specialised areas including wood machining, kitchen and bathroom fit-outs, or cabinetry drafting using CAD. This Certificate III supports progression to trade registration and employment in the building and furnishing sectors.
