About the course
This masters by research lets you undertake an independent, supervised research project in the built environment, aligned to RMIT’s strengths in property, construction and project management, urban design and sustainable practices. You’ll develop advanced research skills and produce a substantial thesis, preparing you for research-informed leadership roles or further doctoral study. This is a Master by Research in the built environment discipline. The programme strengthens advanced engineering design, systems analysis, and innovation management for complex industry projects.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue research-focused roles across the built environment sector, including property and development, construction and project management, urban planning and design, sustainability consulting, and government or industry research units. The degree can also support progression to a PhD or careers in academia, policy and technical advisory roles where evidence-based decision-making is valued.
