About the course
This apprenticeship-focused Certificate III trains wind turbine blade repair technicians through hands-on inspection, maintenance and repair work across sites around Australia. You’ll build practical composites trade skills including lay-up techniques, materials handling, resin systems, joining methods, and repair/modification processes for composite components. Designed as a defined pathway into renewable energy blade repair work, it is open to apprentices only in engineering. The programme focuses on applied engineering drawings, workshop skills, and technical maintenance competencies.

Graduates can apply composites trade skills across industries that manufacture, maintain or repair composite structures. Typical pathways include wind turbine and blade repair technician roles, as well as composites specialist positions in aerospace, marine, civil construction, general manufacturing, and vehicle component or panel manufacturing.
