About the course

This apprenticeship course prepares you for work as an engineering tradesperson in mechanical trade settings across metal, engineering and manufacturing industries. You’ll build practical skills for fitting, assembly, manufacture, installation, modification, testing, fault-finding and maintenance of mechanical equipment and machinery, including the use of machine tools. Specialist streams include fitting and fitting/machining within the Certificate III in mechanical engineering. The programme focuses on applied engineering drawings, workshop skills, and technical maintenance competencies.

Graduates are prepared for entry-level employment as an engineering tradesperson in mechanical trade roles within metal, engineering, manufacturing and related industries.
