About the course
This Certificate IV in Youth Work trains you to support and advocate for young people with social, behavioural, health, welfare, developmental and protection needs. You’ll learn to plan and run youth programs and work effectively with individuals and groups, with a strong focus on safe, ethical and inclusive practice. The qualification prepares you for entry-level work in youth and community services in Australia. The programme introduces counselling basics, community support skills, and behavioural science fundamentals.
Career outcome
Graduates may work in community and youth service settings supporting young people and families through programs, outreach and case support. Potential roles include youth worker, residential care officer, youth housing support worker, community development officer, and youth alcohol and other drugs worker. The Certificate IV qualification can also support progression into more advanced community services and youth work pathways. Preparing graduates for community support, welfare assistant, and care coordination roles, or degree articulation.
