About the course
Develop specialised technical skills for process plant problem solving, aimed at experienced operators and technicians seeking to qualify as process plant technicians. The course covers operating and supporting CSG, LNG and hydrocarbons plant, with electives that may include shutdown and restart procedures, incident control, interpreting schematics and continuous improvement. Training is delivered with industry-experienced teachers and practical support. This is a Certificate IV qualification in chemical/process plant technology.
Career outcome
Graduates may work as process plant technicians across oil and gas, LNG/LPG, hydrocarbons transmission, chemical processing and emergency response support environments. Typical roles include Process Plant Technician, Chemical Plant Technician, Hydrocarbons Plant Technician, LPG Plant Technician, Oil Refinery Plant Technician and Plant Technician (Emergency Response). This Certificate IV supports progression into technician-level roles in chemical and process plant operations. Preparing graduates for engineering technician, draftsperson, and technical service roles, or degree articulation.
