About the course
This practical qualification is designed for people who want to lead others in outdoor recreation settings. You’ll build specialised skills to work as an activity guide or instructor while developing the ability to motivate participants and support personal growth. Training includes hands-on experience in activities such as canoeing, hiking and high and low ropes courses, supported by industry-experienced teachers in a Certificate IV outdoor leadership pathway. The programme builds patient care fundamentals, clinical assistance skills, and health workplace practice.

Graduates can pursue work in the sport, fitness and recreation sector in roles that deliver and supervise outdoor activities. Typical pathways include activity guide, outdoor instructor, adventure program leader or recreation facilitator supporting groups in settings such as camps, tour operators and community programs.
