About the course

This advanced, post-trade Certificate IV builds on existing engineering trade skills and allows specialisation in areas such as mechanical, electrical/electronic, fabrication, diesel fitting, or fitting and turning. You’ll strengthen capabilities across design, assembly, manufacture, installation, testing, fault finding, commissioning, maintenance and servicing of equipment and machinery, supported by industry-experienced teachers. This Certificate IV qualification advances skills in engineering.

Career outcome

Graduates can work across a range of engineering-related industries in higher-level trade roles. Typical outcomes include working as a Higher Engineering Tradesperson or as a Special Class Engineering Tradesperson (Level II), with responsibilities that may include advanced manufacturing, installation, maintenance, commissioning and troubleshooting of equipment and machinery depending on the chosen specialisation.
