About the course
This Certificate IV in Disability Support builds job-ready skills to assist people with disability to achieve greater independence and quality of life. You’ll learn practical approaches to person-centred support, communication and working effectively within community and health settings, with training aligned to current industry expectations. The qualification is delivered on campus at RMIT in a focused, vocational format for disability support practice. The programme introduces counselling basics, community support skills, and behavioural science fundamentals.
Career outcome
Graduates may work in disability and community services settings supporting clients with daily living, community participation and individual goals. Typical opportunities include roles such as disability support worker, support worker or community care worker in organisations delivering NDIS-funded and broader community services. This Certificate IV qualification supports entry to frontline disability support roles within social and community care. Preparing graduates for community support, welfare assistant, and care coordination roles, or degree articulation.
