About the course
This Certificate IV supports those working in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander primary health care. You will develop practical skills to assist with health assessments, coordination of care and delivery of clinical and community-based services in culturally appropriate settings. Study is available in mixed mode with recognition of prior learning options. This is a Certificate IV qualification in Health Sciences focused on Indigenous primary health care practice. The programme builds patient care fundamentals, clinical assistance skills, and health workplace practice.
Career outcome
Graduates may work across Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community organisations and public or private health services, supporting clinical and primary health care delivery. Roles may include Aboriginal Health Practitioner or health worker positions in outreach, mental health, family and sexual health, education and hospital liaison, drug and alcohol support, environmental and community health, and primary health care coordination. This Certificate IV prepares you for frontline Health Sciences roles in Indigenous primary care.
