About the course
This apprenticeship qualification builds practical skills for wall and ceiling lining work in the construction industry. You’ll train as a fibrous plasterer, developing capability to install and finish plasterboard and fibre cement sheeting for walls and ceilings. The course covers tasks such as constructing bulkheads, assembling partitions and installing cornicing, with a strong focus on safe work practices and quality inspection as part of a Certificate III building trade pathway. The programme focuses on applied engineering drawings, workshop skills, and technical maintenance competencies.
Career outcome
Graduates can work as a fibrous plasterer supporting commercial and residential construction projects. Typical work involves installing and finishing wall and ceiling linings, forming partitions and bulkheads, and fitting cornices while following safety and quality requirements on site.
