About the course

This hands-on course builds practical skills to design, manufacture, paint and install signs for displays, buildings, billboards, boats and other structures. Training covers core construction-industry units plus specialist signage work, including measurements and calculations, surface preparation, and producing vinyl, fabric, screen-print, digital and LED signage. Delivered by trade-qualified teachers with strong industry links, it supports apprentices and existing workers in signs and graphics at Certificate III level.

Career outcome

Graduates can work in the signage industry producing and installing a wide range of commercial and residential signs. Typical roles include sign manufacturer, sign writer and sign installer, supporting work across building and construction projects and specialist signage production using traditional and digital methods. Completed as part of an apprenticeship, it contributes to a trade qualification and prepares you for practical, workshop and on-site work in signs and graphics at Certificate III level.
