About the course
This entry-level Certificate III helps you build practical skills for work in production horticulture. You’ll learn workplace safety and compliance, apply biosecurity measures, support crop harvesting, and safely use chemicals for pest and weed control. The training prepares you for roles across nurseries, orchards, and crop production operations in areas such as vegetables, berries, grapes, mushrooms, and tree crops. This is a Certificate III qualification in horticulture. The programme develops laboratory safety, sample handling, and basic analytical techniques for technical roles.

Graduates can pursue entry-level work in production horticulture across farms, orchards and nurseries. Typical roles include orchard farmhand grower, vegetable grower and production nursery tradesperson, supporting planting, harvesting and crop care activities.
