About the course
This trade qualification builds the skills and workplace experience needed to work as a plumber and to apply for a QBCC plumbing licence in Queensland. You will learn to deliver a broad range of plumbing services across water, sanitation, drainage and irrigation, as well as roofing, fire and gas services. Training uses industry-standard equipment and is delivered as part of an apprenticeship pathway in plumbing. The programme focuses on applied engineering drawings, workshop skills, and technical maintenance competencies.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles in the plumbing and gas services industry, supporting residential, commercial and maintenance work. Typical job outcomes include plumber, drainer and gasfitter, with skills applicable to installing, testing and maintaining pipework, fixtures and gas equipment. Completion may support progression toward licensing with the QBCC and ongoing employment as a qualified tradesperson in plumbing. Preparing graduates for engineering technician, draftsperson, and technical service roles, or degree articulation.
