About the course
This apprenticeship-focused Certificate III develops practical mechanical trade skills in a workshop-ready environment with industry-experienced teachers. You’ll build capabilities across fitting and assembly and broader mechanical trade work, including manufacturing, installation, modification, testing and fault finding, plus ongoing maintenance and servicing of machinery and equipment using machine tools. This is a Certificate III qualification in mechanical engineering trades. The programme focuses on applied engineering drawings, workshop skills, and technical maintenance competencies.

Graduates gain an industry-recognised skills profile for mechanical trade work in engineering and manufacturing settings. Depending on elective choices, outcomes align with roles such as Engineering Mechanical Trade, including specialisations like maintenance diesel fitting, maintenance fitting and/or turning, or machining.
