About the course
This entry-level Certificate II in Tourism introduces core tourism operations and customer service skills for a range of visitor-facing workplaces. You’ll build practical knowledge to complete routine office and business-technology tasks, provide visitor information and advice on Australian destinations, and work with cultural sensitivity. The course also creates a pathway into further study in tourism, events, or business within the Certificate I–IV tourism stream. The programme introduces business operations, customer service, and administrative leadership for commercial workplaces.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue entry-level roles supporting tourism and visitor services across attractions and tour businesses. Typical opportunities include receptionist in a travel agency, museum attendant, tour operator office assistant, and retail assistant in a tourist attraction, as well as ride attendant roles. This Certificate II qualification supports starting work in hospitality and tourism environments and provides a base for progressing to higher tourism or events certificates.
