This practical Certificate II prepares you for entry-level work as a security officer. You’ll build job-ready skills to protect people and property, patrol sites, control access, monitor behaviour, manage conflict, and respond to incidents across different security environments. Training covers safety and risk management, communication, observation and reporting, screening procedures, crowd control, and emergency response, with a strong hands-on focus supported by industry-experienced trainers.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles in the private security industry in settings such as venues, events, commercial premises and public-facing sites. Typical job outcomes include Security Officer, Unarmed Guard, and Crowd Controller, with skills suited to access control, incident response, monitoring and reporting, and conflict management. Successful completion may support application for an Unrestricted Class 1 Security Provider Licence (Queensland OFT), supporting broader employment opportunities in security operations.
