About the course
This Certificate IV prepares you to work as a disability support professional in community settings and people’s homes. You’ll learn to deliver person-centred support that builds independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing. The course covers working to individualised plans, ethical and legal compliance, and supporting clients with complex needs, with opportunities for placement and practical learning in a Certificate IV disability support context. The programme introduces counselling basics, community support skills, and behavioural science fundamentals.
Career outcome
Graduates may work across disability and community services, supporting people with disability in daily living, social inclusion and capacity building. Typical roles include disability support worker, senior disability worker, lifestyle support officer, disability service officer, local area coordinator, support facilitator, and team leader/supervisor roles in disability services.
