About the course
This interdisciplinary degree builds skills for community development, humanitarian practice and development aid. You’ll study areas such as sociology, ethics, Indigenous knowledge, project management and international humanitarian assistance, guided by academics and industry practitioners. The course includes a compulsory intensive at Casuarina Campus and, for the Human Services major, substantial community-based placements. This is a bachelor-level qualification in humanitarian aid and development.
Career outcome
Graduates develop a foundation for community work, human service delivery and international humanitarian practice. Career pathways include roles with non-government organisations and government agencies working in community development, humanitarian assistance and development aid. The degree also provides a strong base for further study in related areas such as emergency and disaster management, humanitarian and development aid, and international relations. This is a bachelor-level pathway into humanitarian and development work.
