About the course

The Graduate Certificate of Studies is a highly flexible graduate qualification for students whose goals are not met by a single-discipline program. You can select from ANU’s wide range of graduate courses and build a personalised study plan aligned to your academic, professional and personal interests. The program supports interdisciplinary combinations across areas such as humanities, environmental science and management.

What you might learn

You will develop graduate-level knowledge and skills through selected 6000–8000 level coursework drawn from across ANU. The program is designed to let you shape an interdisciplinary pathway, strengthen expertise in chosen areas, and broaden capabilities by combining advanced, specialist and transitional courses. Learning is focused on building adaptable skills relevant to diverse study and professional directions.

Career outcome

Career outcomes depend on the mix of courses you choose. The qualification can support upskilling, career change or professional development across sectors linked to your selected disciplines, including roles in government, business, community organisations, education and research support. It may also provide a pathway to further postgraduate study by demonstrating graduate-level academic capability.

Entry requirements

Applicants must have a Bachelor degree (or international equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 4.0/7.0, or at least 10 years of work experience in an ANZSCO Skill Level 1 role. Applicants must also meet ANU English language requirements. Admission is competitive and meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee entry; ANU may rank applicants using GPA calculations and, where needed, additional evidence.
