This course introduces key concepts and debates in international and community development, focusing on contemporary global and local challenges. You will explore initiatives that promote justice, reduce poverty and support sustainable living environments, with teaching informed by current events and sector experience. Delivered fully online, it also provides a pathway into Deakin’s Master of Humanitarianism and Development as a Graduate Certificate in community development.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue entry-level or early-career roles supporting development and community programs across NGOs, government agencies and international organisations. The course builds a foundation for understanding policy and practice in areas such as poverty reduction, social justice, inequality and environmental vulnerability.
