About the course

The Graduate Certificate of Epidemiology introduces core epidemiology concepts, statistical research methods and quantitative analysis of health data to support disease prevention, protection and health promotion. You’ll learn from Menzies School of Health Research experts and build foundations for evidence-based public health practice. The course can also provide a pathway to further study in public health or health research at graduate diploma or masters level. The programme develops advanced clinical reasoning, health leadership, and evidence-based practice for complex care environments.

Career outcome

Graduates can pursue entry-level epidemiology and research support roles focused on analysing and interpreting health data in public health, clinical research and related settings. The course builds capability for working with population health evidence to inform prevention and health promotion initiatives, and may support progression into broader public health or health research positions. Career outcomes align with Graduate Certificate study in epidemiology within Health Sciences.
