About the course
The Graduate Certificate in Science in Medicine (Trauma-Informed Psychotherapy) is an online, part-time course designed for clinicians working in mental health. It introduces trauma-informed, psychodynamic psychotherapy approaches for people whose presentations may include anxiety, personality disorders, chronic depression and post-traumatic conditions. You complete four core units across 24 credit points, building foundational skills in ultra-brief and short-term interventions and Trauma-Informed Care.
Career outcome
Graduates can strengthen their clinical practice by integrating trauma-informed, psychodynamic psychotherapy skills into mental health settings. The course is suited to practising clinicians such as psychologists, social workers, counsellors, nurses and psychotherapists, and may also support allied professionals seeking psychotherapy competencies. It can help graduates contribute to assessment and short-term therapeutic interventions for clients where trauma is a key factor in presentation in psychology-related practice contexts.
