About the course

The Graduate Certificate in Physiotherapy (Exercise and Women’s Health) is designed for qualified physiotherapists who want to specialise in women’s health across the lifespan. It blends clinical knowledge with real-world application, focusing on musculoskeletal clinical assessment, differential diagnosis and evidence-based physiotherapy management. The course emphasises personalised exercise prescription and supporting women from adolescence through to active ageing.

What you might learn

Students build advanced clinical reasoning and decision-making skills for assessing and managing women’s musculoskeletal and exercise-related presentations. The course develops capability to design tailored, evidence-based treatment and exercise interventions to support recovery, performance and wellbeing. It also aims to deepen understanding of women-specific considerations including pregnancy, postnatal care, menopause, ageing and female athlete health.

Career outcome

Graduates can strengthen their practice as physiotherapists working with women’s health and exercise-focused caseloads in private practice, hospitals and community health settings. The qualification supports progression into specialist roles involving assessment, treatment planning and exercise rehabilitation for women across life stages. It can also position graduates for further study pathways in pelvic health-focused postgraduate physiotherapy.
