About the course

Led by a team of Indigenous experts and delivered entirely online, this graduate certificate focuses on Indigenous business leadership for First Nations business leaders navigating leadership while staying true to culture within a colonial system. It provides a safe learning environment to explore culture, trauma and the impacts of colonialism, and supports collaborative learning across a diverse cohort. Students study core subjects in Indigenous business leadership, Indigenous business ecosystems and Indigenous philosophies of business, with elective options including analytics, accounting, economics, research, finance or marketing.

What you might learn

Students develop practical tools to manage the cultural, community and individual demands of leadership in Indigenous business contexts. The course builds evidence-informed leadership capability through Indigenous-led teaching and international Indigenous perspectives. It strengthens understanding of Indigenous business ecosystems and philosophies to support effective, culturally grounded decision-making and leadership practice.

Career outcome

Graduates are prepared for leadership and management pathways within the Indigenous business sector, including roles in Indigenous-owned enterprises, community organisations, and broader public or private sector organisations working with First Nations communities. The program supports advancement for Indigenous business owners, managers and professionals by strengthening strategic leadership, ecosystem understanding and culturally informed business practice. It also provides a pathway to further study such as the Master of Indigenous Business Leadership and potential credit into selected business masters programs.
