About the course
This graduate certificate develops specialist capability to support learners with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dyscalculia. It builds understanding of the nature and causes of learning difficulties and strengthens practical teaching responses through assessment, goal-setting and evidence-informed instructional choices. The course is delivered part-time and fully online and provides a pathway with advanced standing toward the Master of Learning Intervention.
What you might learn
Students learn to identify and respond to learning difficulties using classroom-based assessment and targeted, intervention-oriented teaching strategies. The course aims to deepen professional knowledge of how learning difficulties affect literacy, numeracy and language learning and how to optimise progress through responsive instruction. Graduates develop skills in planning, implementing and evaluating adjustments and supports for diverse learners.
