About the course
The Graduate Certificate in Dementia provides a cross-disciplinary understanding of dementia and its impacts on individuals, communities and governments. Designed for professionals seeking evidence-informed, person-centred approaches, it draws on expertise from the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre and links education with contemporary research in care, cause and prevention. This online graduate qualification can be studied part-time or full-time in Health Sciences.
Career outcome
Graduates can apply specialised dementia knowledge to improve practice and support people living with dementia and their carers across health and community settings. The course can strengthen capability for roles in aged care, disability and community services, care coordination, education and advocacy, quality improvement, and policy or program support within government and non-government organisations. It also provides a pathway to further postgraduate study in dementia-focused Health Sciences.
