About the course

This Graduate Certificate equips registered pharmacists to move beyond dispensing into expanded clinical and prescribing roles. You’ll build capability in patient assessment, diagnostic reasoning and evidence-based pharmacotherapy to assess and treat minor ailments and support chronic disease management. Designed for Australian prescribing frameworks with a strong rural and regional focus, the course offers flexible online study with short intensive components, building advanced pharmacy practice skills.

Career outcome

Graduates can broaden their scope toward full-scope pharmacy practice and emerging pharmacist prescribing pathways (subject to legislation and local frameworks). Career directions may include prescribing pharmacist, advanced clinical pharmacist, or specialist roles supporting chronic disease, aged care or mental health services. Skills apply across community pharmacy, primary healthcare centres, rural clinics and outreach services where expanded pharmacist-led care and prescribing are increasingly required in pharmacy practice.
