Take the first steps on your path to playing a vital role in your community and a successful career as a pharmacist with La Trobe's accredited Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours).Build your understanding of how medicines treat diseases and impact people's lives, and the importance of patient-centred and individualised care. Access our on-campus training pharmacy and get work-ready by participating in a range of community and hospital placements. The programme develops clinical skills, patient care fundamentals, and health sciences knowledge for registered practice pathways.
Career outcome
After graduation, you'll be eligible to apply to complete a one-year supervised internship and take the Pharmacy Board of Australia exams to qualify as a professional pharmacist. You can then work in a range of settings, including hospitals, community pharmacies, pharmacy professional organisations, government agencies, pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies or research facilities. Possible roles include:community pharmacisthospital pharmacistworking as part of the team in a GP clinicproviding in-home medicine reviewsleading a medication advisory committee at an aged care facility.
