About the course
This Certificate III qualification prepares you for general job roles across agriculture, conservation land management and other rural industries. You’ll develop practical skills for working under broad supervision in varied rural settings, using equipment, coordinating resources and applying judgement on the job. Delivery is face-to-face in Katherine or Remote locations and may be undertaken as a traineeship, supporting entry-level employment in rural operations. The programme develops laboratory safety, sample handling, and basic analytical techniques for technical roles.

Graduates may pursue entry-level roles across agriculture and related rural and regional sectors, depending on the units chosen. Typical work includes operating machinery, assisting with station and pastoral activities, and supporting animal care and rural services. Potential job titles include machinery operator, station hand, pastoral worker, vegetable/orchard worker, animal care worker and animal attendant/stockperson in rural operations contexts. Preparing graduates for laboratory assistant, quality control, and science technician roles, or degree articulation.
