About the course
This Certificate II in Agriculture builds practical skills and knowledge for entry-level roles across rural and regional Australia. You’ll learn to carry out routine, predictable tasks under supervision in areas such as livestock production, cropping or mixed farming, with unit choices that can also support other regional industries. Delivery is workplace-based with assessment on station, and it can be undertaken as a traineeship in 2026. The programme develops laboratory safety, sample handling, and basic analytical techniques for technical roles.
Career outcome
Graduates may seek entry-level work across farms, stations, saleyards and rural contracting settings. Typical roles include assistant animal attendant/stock person, assistant farm or station hand, assistant farm fencing contractor, farm machinery worker, jillaroo/jackaroo, and saleyard livestock worker. This Certificate II qualification supports practical employment pathways in agriculture and broader rural and regional workplaces.
