About the course
JCU’s Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honours) prepares you to support animal health and welfare through a strong blend of science, clinical training and communication skills. You’ll gain extensive hands-on experience in JCU’s on-campus Veterinary and Emergency Centre and Hospital and through rural placements including a working cattle station. The program emphasises veterinary practice in rural and remote contexts within Veterinary Science at Bachelor (Honours) level. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue veterinary careers across companion animal and mixed practices, emergency and hospital settings, and rural, production and remote veterinary services. The degree supports work with livestock and regional communities as well as roles in animal health and welfare, biosecurity and related animal industries.
