About the course
The Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (Honours) is a five-year full-time program delivered at the Northern Rivers (Lismore) campus. It provides a comprehensive and skills-intensive education that integrates basic and clinical sciences to build early clinical problem-solving. Work-integrated learning is central, with placements across companion and production animals, mixed rural practice, critical care, wildlife, regulatory practice and surgery for a Bachelor-level veterinary qualification.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for professional practice across a wide range of veterinary settings. Career pathways include companion animal and mixed rural practice, production animal and herd health roles, emergency and critical care, surgical and hospital-based practice, and work with native wildlife. The program’s work-integrated learning also supports careers in regulatory and biosecurity-related veterinary roles, aligned to an honours-level Bachelor degree in veterinary science. Preparing graduates for laboratory technician, research assistant, and science-based industry entry roles.
