About the course
UniSC’s Bachelor of Urban Design and Town Planning (Honours) prepares you to plan and shape liveable, sustainable neighbourhoods and cities. You’ll build skills in urban growth management, infrastructure and services planning, and evidence-based decision-making, supported by practical projects each year. The degree includes industry connections and a five-week placement, and is accredited by the Planning Institute of Australia for an honours-level qualification in urban planning and design.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue careers across government, consultancy and development where planning and design decisions shape communities. Typical roles include urban designer, transport planner, strategic planner and policy officer, community development practitioner, development assessment officer, social planner, place maker and infrastructure planning roles. Opportunities also extend to planning consultancies and property development. This honours bachelor qualification supports entry into professional urban design and town planning practice.
