About the course

Develop the skills to shape sustainable cities and regions through an accredited planning education. You’ll study planning law and policy, urban economics, climate change adaptation and natural resource management, and learn to analyse places, communities and development impacts. The course emphasises practical, real-world planning work and professional preparation. This is a Bachelor Degree / Honours Degree focused on urban and regional planning in the built environment. The programme combines engineering fundamentals, design projects, and industry-ready technical problem-solving skills.

Career outcome

Graduates are prepared for professional roles in statutory and strategic planning across government, consultancy and development sectors. Career paths can include urban planner, town planner, transport planner, environmental planner/manager, social planner, subdivisions planner and urban designer. You may work on land use policy, development assessment, precinct planning, infrastructure and climate-resilient growth strategies. This is a Bachelor Degree / Honours Degree leading to careers in urban and regional planning within Architecture & Building.

Entry requirements

ATAR 61.05 or equivalent.
