About the course
This course develops the expertise needed for innovative urban and regional planning and for shaping sustainable communities. You’ll learn to balance public and private interests and integrate social, economic, environmental, legal and political factors into land-use and development strategies. The degree builds capability in planning, design, economics, law, communication, and ethical professional practice for undergraduate planning work. The programme combines engineering fundamentals, design projects, and industry-ready technical problem-solving skills.

Graduates are prepared for roles across government and industry focused on managing growth and creating liveable places. Career paths include urban or regional planner, urban designer, developer-side roles, and project or policy officer positions, as well as consulting in planning and development. You may work in community development, environmental and transport planning, sustainable development, land-use planning, and regional/rural planning within a Bachelor-level planning discipline.
