About the course
UWA’s Sport Science major prepares you to work with elite athletes or the broader community in health, fitness, sport and recreation settings. You’ll build foundations in sport and exercise science and learn how evidence-based practice supports performance, wellbeing and participation. The major is designed to develop practical and analytical skills relevant to the sport and recreation industries in an undergraduate pathway in Sports Science. The programme develops clinical skills, patient care fundamentals, and health sciences knowledge for registered practice pathways.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles across sport, fitness and recreation, supporting performance, participation and health outcomes for individuals and teams. Career directions may include work in community and high-performance sport environments, fitness and exercise settings, and broader sport and recreation organisations. The major also provides a strong base for further study aligned with an undergraduate qualification in Sports Science.
