About the course
This degree prepares you for entry to professional speech pathology practice, working with children and adults with speech, language, voice, fluency, swallowing and multimodal communication needs. You’ll study areas such as phonetics and linguistics, audiology and neurology, and learn alongside other health disciplines. The course includes extensive practical learning with 910 hours of clinical placements in settings such as schools, hospitals, nursing homes and university health clinics as a Bachelor Degree in Speech Pathology.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles as speech pathologists supporting communication and swallowing across the lifespan in a wide range of settings. Employment may include hospitals and health services, schools and education support, aged care and nursing homes, community and disability services, not-for-profit organisations, and private practice. Work often involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and specialists to deliver assessment, intervention and rehabilitation as a Bachelor-qualified Speech Pathology professional.
