About the course
This honours degree prepares you to assess, diagnose and treat communication and swallowing disorders across the lifespan. You’ll build underpinning knowledge in anatomy, neurophysiology, speech and hearing science, linguistics and healthcare, alongside practical clinical skills. After foundational study in years 1–2, you specialise in either a Professional or Research stream in years 3–4. It is an undergraduate qualification in Speech Pathology. The programme develops clinical skills, patient care fundamentals, and health sciences knowledge for registered practice pathways.
Career outcome
Graduates can work as speech pathologists supporting people with speech, language, voice, fluency and swallowing difficulties in diverse settings. Employment pathways include roles in hospitals and community health, disability and aged-care services, schools and education support, and private practice. The course also supports careers in clinical education, research, policy or service management roles. This is a Bachelor (Honours) qualification in Speech Pathology. Preparing graduates for nursing, allied health, and community care professional registration and graduate roles.
