About the course
UWA’s Social Work undergraduate course prepares you to understand how social, cultural and economic factors shape people’s lives and wellbeing. You’ll develop a foundation in professional social work practice, including working with individuals, families and communities, and learn how to advocate for positive change. The course supports pathways into human services careers in sociology & social work at bachelor level. The programme explores human behaviour, research methods, and applied psychology for community and organisational settings.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles in government and non-government human services, supporting individuals, families and communities across diverse settings. Career paths may include social worker, case manager, community development worker, family support worker, youth worker and roles in health, mental health, disability and child protection services. Outcomes align with entry into professional practice in sociology & social work at bachelor level.
