About the course
This intermediate qualification prepares you for work supporting children, young people and families who may be at risk. You’ll develop practical skills to engage clients, respond to wellbeing and safety concerns, and work within child and youth services systems. Delivery is available on campus and online, with multiple intakes across the year. This is a Certificate IV in Sociology & Social Work-focused practice. The programme introduces counselling basics, community support skills, and behavioural science fundamentals.
Career outcome
Graduates may work in child, youth and family support settings, helping deliver early intervention and wellbeing services for vulnerable clients. Typical roles include welfare support worker or youth support-related positions in community organisations, child protection and family services providers. The course supports pathways into frontline support work with at-risk children and young people. This is a Certificate IV leading to roles in Sociology & Social Work services.
