About the course
This degree prepares you to understand and tackle major social challenges such as inequality, racial injustice, health and illness, and the impacts of climate change. You’ll build critical thinking and social research capability while drawing on fields including sociology, policy studies, geography, Indigenous studies, political science and anthropology. The Bachelor of Social Science emphasises social justice and practical, transferable skills for change-making careers in the social sciences.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles focused on social change across government, NGOs and community organisations. Career pathways include policy and program support, public policy evaluation, social impact assessment, advocacy and communications, community development and planning, and social research assistance. You may work on issues such as health, environment, inequality and Indigenous affairs at local, national or international levels with a Bachelor of Social Science background. Preparing graduates for laboratory technician, research assistant, and science-based industry entry roles.
